Welcome to Your Guide for Maintaining Natural
Health and Wellness
There are simple guidelines that will empower you to maintain a state of natural health and wellness by
choosing a holistic approach to living life consciously.
As you start exploring the information and resources on this site, I'd like to introduce myself and tell you why
I've put the Holistic-Wellness-Basics website together.
My name is Nony Morgan and I would like to share my experience and expertise with you. I've studied and practiced natural health care for over 3 decades.
During this time I've also worked as a Registered Nurse, then as a Holistic Chiropractor and Wellness
Consultant - with a sub-specialty in holistic nutrition. I loved working in the healing arts, and now I also love my
life of retirement. But...
... I really miss sharing information with people about natural health care.
I know that my path in life is to offer guidance that helps people to make empowering choices about their
health. I'm continuously learning new and rediscovered methods and ideas about a holistic approach to
living consciously, and it's fun to apply much of this to my own lifestyle.
The beginning - starting from long, long ago...
When I was a teenager my pet beagle, Peppy Doll, was snooping around in the garage and got a fish hook
stuck inside her mouth. My mother panicked...
"Oh m'God, oh m'God... what should we do? Oh m'God."
I opened Peppy Doll's mouth, pulled the hook through, snipped the line and voila - end of drama. Mom
said, "Nony, you were so calm handling that emergency; you should be a nurse."
So off I went to Providence College of Nursing, and afterwards I started my first job working at San Francisco
General Hospital. This was a very exciting time in San Francisco - and part of the scene
was a new consciousness about eating.
It really made sense to me... fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains - grown without pesticides. Raw
or lightly steamed vegetables to preserve the nutritional quality - instead of boiled into oblivion. Yep... made
sense.
The New Age had arrived and I hopped aboard.
What a treasure trove of newly offered and revived health information! I took classes in reflexology, shiatsu, polarity
therapy, yoga, meditation, holistic nutrition, herbal medicine, massage, creative visualization... on and on. I
taught classes in Basic Holistic Health to nurses seeking 'Continuing Ed' credits. It was an exciting era!
As the years went by, I became increasingly frustrated with conventional medicine. I had started a new job in
ICU and was feeling more and more compromised. Many of the drugs, in the dosages I was ordered to
give, were extremely hepatotoxic or nephrotoxic... meaning they could severely damage the liver or kidneys.
The meaning of iatrogenesis was becoming uncomfortably clear to me. It means that the illness or
symptoms are caused by the treatment.
And, in my enthusiasm to share my new knowledge about nutrition, I began to talk to my patients about
making dietary changes to improve their health. Whoops - I started getting a lot of flak for that because, as I was
told... Food doesn't have anything to do with health, and vitamins are unnecessary and
useless.
I knew that was BS.
Hmm... I was in the wrong movie.
After much soul-searching, I decided to leave the nursing profession and I eventually enrolled at Palmer
College of Chiropractic-West. I love hands-on treatment, and I knew my degree would also give me the
freedom to offer the kind of health guidance I believe in.
I often worked nights and double-shift weekends as a private duty nurse to help pay for chiropractic college.
This was before hospice became widely available, and many times I would be assigned to care for people who
chose to die at home. It was a privilege to share that important transition with people and I learned a lot with
them.
After graduation I opened a chiropractic office in the Napa Valley in northern California. Some of my sub-specialties were craniosacral therapy and nutrition.
For the next 20 years I offered my clients a holistic approach to their health issues. This provided
many opportunities to witness the dramatic and positive results of following a course of natural self-healing.
I love to travel and several years ago I decided to follow a dream. I sold my house and most of my
possessions, bought a 4WD Sportsmobile campervan, and started traveling the North American continent.
Here are a few of my satellite-office locations where I'm developing this website.

I don't miss managing a brick-and-mortar business, but I do miss sharing information with people who are
seeking to improve their health. So my path led me here. Now I can offer guidance that can significantly improve
the quality of your life.
If you're just here to browse, carry on. You'll find a lot of interesting and useful information.
Or... are you ready to begin an empowering journey towards optimal health?
Perhaps you're fairly new to the concept of living a healthy holistic lifestyle. Don't let yourself
get overwhelmed; take it one step at a time.
